FOOTASYLUM - FLAGSHIP STORE MOtiON DESIGN

DEFY ORDINARY

‍We were invited by our friends at Footasylum to develop a motion look and feel & guidelines for their new innovative flagship stores in London Oxford Street, Lakeside and Birmingham’s Bullring.

We sat down to build what would be all the motion language and guidelines for a million and one screens in store. Foot Asylum are at the top of their game with marketing on screen within a retail experience. The footprint was 200%+ more screens than normal. The pace was fast, the creative; bold and upfront

IN MOTION

The aim was develop a design language that the Foot Asylum team could use as a blueprint for creating content in-store and online.

PLOTTER

Modeled on a classic graphic plotter. A pair of axis that draw information on and off. Here we used thid mechanic to pass trhought our creative drawing logos, text and pattern.

PATTERN

A set of infinite pattern repeats based on the extrapolation of a pixel. Patterns flow content in different directions and act as visual ambiance to transition.

GRID

All of the creative is built around a grid system that can be adaptive to the pixel count of any screen. It allows us to break up content into chapters of image, video and text.

WATCH THAT SWATCH

A suite of patterns that flow infinitely and act as the bedrock of Footasylum’s motion aesthetic

BIG & BOLD

Overall the animation we developed takes over any screen it touches. The cube at Oxford Street is one of a kind. Constantly revolving and rebuilduing. All the footwear screens draw on and off with plotter and the wardrobe and plinths reset, redraw and resovle on timed loops. Patterns wipe and rebuild content on walls and over doors. A pleasure to work on with the best team.
