THE_BRIEF
To launch Asics’ brand new Padel apparel & footwear range; SONICSMASH™ FF - In Eurpoe by hosting a padel event for pros, players and influencers at the Club Munay, Barcelona
Activities included presentation and demo of the new SONICSMASH™ FF shoes, with ASICS product managers explaining the tech and design innovations. Padel challenges and informal matches where participants could test the shoes and compete in fun on-court tasks.
Interaction with professional players — players like Coki Nieto, Mike Yanguas, and Jessica Castelló were present, playing with attendees or in exhibition matches. Casual social elements like cocktails, dinner, and DJ sets rounded out the event, making it a blend of sport, brand immersion, and lifestyle experience.
THE_RESPONSE
We used Barcelona as the location for an exclusive launch/padel event to showcase its new padel shoe, the SONICSMASH™ FF. The event was held around the padel courts of Munay Club Viladecans where we combined product presentation, live padel play, challenges, and community involvement rather than being a formal tournament with official rankings.
THE_RESULT
An event that wasn’t a formal competitive tournament in the official padel circuit.
It was a brand-centered launch/demo experience designed to get players, influencers, and media interacting with the new ASICS padel product in a fun setting.
